We baked, drank, hustled, auctioned, climbed, skied and succeeded!
Marketel’s 24H Tremblant team did a fantastic job at of tirelessly raising money for a very worthwhile cause.
For the past few weeks, the Marketel 24H team pulled out all the stops when it came to fundraising for the 24 Hours of Skiing at Tremblant fundraiser in support of the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau, which helps kids with cancer in Quebec. Our team’s amazing efforts included a toque sale with Astral and Radio NRJ, a delicious bake sale, a fun hockey night, a thirst-quenching beer cart, a fabulous auction and some serious stair climbing by Mary-Lynn Thompson, who climbed the stairs an extra floor a day until she finally completed all 19 at once and reached the 19th floor! The team also paid a visit to the Ste-Justine Hospital, which gave them a real sense of how the charity works and exactly who the money goes to. The final step was the ski event at Mont Tremblant where our team of nine took it in turns to hitting the slopes for 24 hours non-stop. These awesome activities combined with individual donations from friends and family helped the team raise an amazing $6,766, putting our team in 68th place out of 200 teams, which, for our very first year of participation, is a truly commendable accomplishment! We wish to thank everyone at the agency for all the hard work, effort and generous donations. This kind of accomplishment could not have happened without every department and individual pulling together as a real team. We had so much fun participating this year, and are very excited to take it to the next level next year!
