Tech geek is the new chic.
Fresh digital marketing opportunities are cropping up in conjunction with the hottest new platforms, devices and trends, and our cool kids know all about it.
With the holidays behind us and the fresh new year in full swing, the timing was right for Marketel to invite its clients and colleagues to the second Digital Summit in the recently launched series. Last week’s summit was presented by Marketel’s Social Media and Interactive Director, Bobby Destounis, along with guest speaker Nectarios Economakis, Agency Lead at Google Canada. The summit took attendees through the hottest topics covered at Ad Tech NYC and provided constructive insight into how these groundbreaking tools and developments can help our clients effectively connect their brands with consumers in the right places, at the right time. Topics discussed included the evolution of online video, the rise of tablet marketing, the ever-growing influence of social media, Google+, and SoLoMo (social, local and mobile – how we shop on the go). Key takeaways gave our clients food for thought on the merging of online and offline, how brands need to adapt to TV in transition, connecting through engaging conversation and social media, and not being afraid to fail when treading on new digital ground.
“Bringing people together to chat about innovation, technology, and advertising is key in terms of being able to bounce ideas around in a live setting. It’s a perfect opportunity to get the ball rolling on the development of new campaigns,” says Roch Berniquez, Vice-President, Digital Platforms at Marketel.
