Marketel and Air Canada were on site to sponsor the Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay in Vancouver, celebrating the end of a long and meaningful journey.
For the past 25 years, Air Canada has had a relationship with Paralympian and activist Rick Hansen and his Man in Motion world tour. For this part of the tour, the Rick Hansen Celebration 25 event in Vancouver on May 22 marked the end of a relay through more than 600 communities on a nine-month, 12,000-kilometre journey across Canada.
In honour of the closing ceremonies, Marketel was on site to host a promotional activation for Air Canada with the goal of leveraging their sponsorship with something simple, accessible, and appealing to people of all ages. The sponsorship initiative included 2,000 co-branded lanyards with Air Canada’s 75th anniversary luggage tags as well as unique QR codes on the flipside. Guests of the event had to find the Air Canada promo team to have their QR codes scanned for the chance to win instant prizes, including a pair of round-trip tickets to anywhere in North America that Air Canada flies.
The event was a huge success, full of excitement, suspense (for the coveted flight giveaway!), and positive energy. The winners of the grand prize were stunned and absolutely over the moon. “Overall, the Air Canada activation had the highest level of engagement and participation, with tons of fans lined up at the booth to see what they had won, says Jason Larocque, Project Manager.
