I scream, you scream, we all scream for… hockey tickets!

Marketel created a social media strategy to call upon Toronto hockey fans, giving them the chance to win coveted hockey tickets.

As part of the Air Canada sponsored promotional evenings at hockey arenas across Canada, Marketel has devised a social media strategy on Facebook announcing an exclusive giveaway of several pairs of hockey tickets. We created a teaser post to tell fans to be on the lookout for special announcements and giveaways. A follow-up post then gave fans the time and location of where Air Canada ambassadors would be the next day, waiting with tickets. Upon pulling up at the corner of Bay and Queen in Toronto, the ambassadors were met with a mob of eagerly awaiting fans, all wanting to get their hands on one of the 5 pairs of tickets. They engaged in a cheering contest to see who really wanted them the most. The tickets were given to the most enthusiastic fans who got to take lucky friends or family along with them for the game where they got to interact in a comfortable, fun environment. While at the game fans could participate in green-screen photo ops and received personalized luggage tags. The fans then returned to the Facebook page to thank Air Canada for the experience. The great response through social media turned into a highly successful live activation. The launch of the project proved to be very popular and will undoubtedly drive a fantastic response in the other Canadian cities to come.
