How about watching it live at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana? This year, Marketel’s media team has joined forces with our client Labatt to help give one lucky winner along with three friends the ultimate VIP Super Bowl experience courtesy of Bud Light. The prize includes flights, hotel accommodation, and amazing tickets to the 2012 Super Bowl. In order to win the ultimate VIP Bud Light experience, fans must scan QR codes in multiple locations to accumulate “plays.” Once they have a certain number of plays, they are eligible to be entered to win. With a target market of males aged 18–24, Marketel strategized a media plan to effectively reach this demographic. In addition to being on Bud Light beer cases, QR codes were placed on the web on sports and lifestyle websites, including RDS.ca, Grooveshark.com, and VersusFootball.com, as well as on TV, wall murals, posters in bar and nightclub bathrooms, and in sports section print ads in 24 Heures and Métro newspapers.
