As a proud sponsor of our homegrown world junior hockey team, our client Air Canada is showing its support and making one fan’s hockey dream come true!

Even though our Canadian junior hockey team didn’t win gold this year, they put up a tough fight and are still champions in our eyes for making it as far as they did, and for bringing home the bronze medal. On behalf of our client, Air Canada, Marketel created a print ad to show our support and encourage these young Canadian athletes. The colourful ad ran on January 4 in the Toronto Sun, Calgary Herald, and Edmonton Journal, but the sponsorship didn’t stop there. Marketel also created a microsite on which to host an exciting Air Canada contest. Hockey fans galore flocked to the site for their chance to win the grand prize of a four-day trip to Calgary to see the crucial final games, including the semi-finals, the bronze medal game, and the nail-biting final match. Torontonian hockey aficionado Martin Kelley was the lucky winner who won a flight, hotel stay, and hockey tickets to see his Canadian team duke it out with the competition. Media banners on sports-related websites such as TSN.ca drove fans to the microsite in order to enter the contest. The overall sponsorship campaign ran smoothly and proved to be very successful. We are proud of our Canadian junior hockey team and have no doubt that they’ll come back strong next year!
